Hello All,
This is Kody, aka Sp3cial K. I have recently joined MRExcel in hopes to find methods to creating passages through excel to better my thoughts that run through my head. Some may think I'm crazy, but I truly believe that with the thoughts of others and myself, that a simple game can be cracked, leading us all to making a lot of money.

As I look at life, I know, just as any other smart person knows, life revolves around numeric patterns. And what I have seen by joining this site is that there are a lot of smart people out there. So, What I have decided to do is to write this as an invite to those interested. The game I play is Keno, it can be found in most states that carry lotto, not just at casinos. Keno is a numbers game where you pick 1-10 numbers of 80. There are 20 numbers drawn and if your numbers match, then you win depending on what sequence of numbers you choose.

Now, I have played every sequence there is. Here in Missouri, The winnings are as follows:

What I have found is your best chances to win, are simply picking two numbers. If two out of 20 numbers hit, you win 10/1 odds. So, what I am trying to find, is a formula in excel that we can use, to configure the next drawings to show us at least 2 numbers that will come in. This sounds easy I'm sure, I've been racking my brain trying different methods, count, sum, and even predict (which has slipped my mind of the formula name, but you take certain numbers in a row and it tells you what the next number should be) Anyway, Billions of people play the lottery, everyone is looking for that edge to make more money aside from their real-life job. I am looking for others interested in trying to devise a pattern or formula in excel that we can figure out the next drawing up to three drawings ahead. If interested, reply to this post, share the post and maybe with more minds then 1, we can find a solution.

and remember 210,000 spins is a very small number - I could repeat with 2,100,000 spins or 21m or 210m

the hottest and coldest numbers would keep changing

at no time could I predict hot numbers or cold numbers

Correct.... "hot" numbers, notable sequences of numbers and such are things that are noted "after the fact" when you look back at the list of previously drawn values. The next number(s) to be drawn have no memory of past "hot" numbers or sequences and, as such, cannot be predicted in advance. Period... there is no logical counter that can be made to that statement.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
I suggest this thread is now closed and removed as it is not helping anybody with anything to do with Excel.

I disagree. There may still be readers of this thread who have something notable to contribute.

And, although I agree that the primary function of threads in this forum should be to offer solutions to Excel problems, that is not to say, in my opinion, that wider issues should not also be discussed.

Besides, the more people that read this post, which could be viewed collectively as something of a rebuttal to those (sadly many) people who continue to believe that the laws of mathematics can be proven false - usually for the sake of their financial gain - the better.

Regards

I created this thread, and am finding all your replies, both negative and positive to be useful and helpful. So, I agree, keep it alive.. lol

Anyway, I do have a question not really regarding this thread, but containing to project I am working on.. Is there a way to put a clock and/or a timer on an excel spreadsheet?

When doing conditional formatting, is there a way to do multiple various numbers at once? Like 6, 12, 19, 33, 45 without having to do each one individually under the exact match?

Well i have seen many good points raised, and I agree, it would seem impossible to predict, even if you doubled your bet ever time (assuming their let you) the prize would increment as your bids went up, and possibly, in the end you could win, you stake over many games + 47.37% of you last bet ,and please remember that this is for only 1 number, for the first 20 bets, if you do not win by then you could loose 1,048,575 as this would be you total bet at play 20.

To work the rest out would be an excel problem, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 ect possible you could get better odds, but more complex calculations are needed.

I know everyone on here is saying it can't be done.. but, listening to what you are all writing I have come up with a **** close way of cracking it. So thanks.. What I have done is taken the logic of hot numbers. They are hot, but only for so long as you have all stated. So in excel, I have typed in all draws since 12:00am this morning. Doing this give me the most accurate hot numbers of the day. I have then formatted it to where if the number comes up, it marks a box under that number with a 1. At the top of the page, I have =sum all the ones in each column and then I have conditionally formatted the top row with all numbers summed to tell me the Top 10 greatest numbers (Hot Numbers). Then I have gone to the last 10 draws and conditionally formatted each hot number (for past 10 draws) looking at their pattern, shows that a number that's "hot" and hasn't hit in awhile is due to hit. finding two of those numbers isn't hard. Take the 2 numbers you found, and play them. They both play in the same drawing within the next 2-3 draws...

do not start new threads about timers and conditional formatting within this thread, otherwise the moderators will get you........

You've got persistence and optimism, Special K, I must grant you that. I'm a bit skeptical that you have actually found a way to predict two winning numbers in the next 2-3 games (due to the arithmetic principles involved) but it's good to hear you found a way to model your theory with Excel.
