Hello,

I am having some troubbles. I understand the v look up function. I am having trouble making a v lookup to a complacently separate file then the file I am working on.
the trouble is that the file I want to v look up is updated 2 two times a day from our online portal. How do I make it so that the v look up will chose the most recent file every time?

I am using this formula: =VLOOKUP( C2,' [ VGH_Schedule_160729_0601.xls ] Work Order Schedule'!$A$2:$U$8943,16,0)

I have the v lookup in the wrong column maybe?

Thanks for the help!!

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney

Well i don't see a problem with updated file reference as long as the file name and relevant variables remain same. All you need is close and open the current file where VLOOKUP is being used. Your column is right or wrong can only be judged based on input data and still by your checking of correct file names references.

I think its your file name, it is may be incorrectly stated within the formula.

List all the 'workbooks' and 'sheets' involved please.

As Meesam said, formula looks good.
