My formulas keep converting to values after saving and closing a spreadsheet, then reopening them. Is there an setting I need to change? Thanks.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Do you know if there is any code/VBA/macro running in the back ground?
What is the file extension?

There is no way that a formula will just "convert" to it's answer, without something acting on it

Also, you don't need any "code" to paste a formula here, what you did was just fine :)

It seems you have a calculation which will result in a value. Isn't that what you want?

To put a code here you can do it like this:

(code)
your code
(/code)

Replace the parenthesis with square brackets.

There is no calculation which will just convert to a value, replacing the formula with it's answer. Something else must be at work here

I think I just found the problem. I had to download the data in .csv format from another program. So if I convert to .xlsx, will that solve the problem?

Yes that should solve your problem. It seems a shame that we cannot attach files here to actually show in detail what is going on. Good luck!

OK so the formula was just being overwritten by the new download. Perhaps put the formula/s further over, or on another sheet and run from there?
