Transfer running total to another cell

In column Z22:Z400 I have a total based on data in columns to the left of it.

They are in effect the running total of negatives and positives.

What formula can I use to transfer the last balance to cell E4 on same sheet.

This formula seemed like the right one for my need as well but it doesn't give me the running total if there are blank cells under the row with the current total. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

What cells are included in the running total?

In E4, just total those cells!

So, if you are totalling X & Y (probably credit and debit columns), in E4 use =SUM(X:Y) -- may have to adjust to account for any headers you might have.

I wasn't able to attach, but I now know the problem with my Lookup formula but don't know the solution.
The column has hidden rows, which have errors #VALUE! and I think because the lookup formula does not understand text it cannot provide the final answer. Is it possible to have a look up formula to ignore #VALUE! ?

For the current balance: =SUM({cells-in-credit-balance-column}) - SUM ({cells-in-debit-balance-column})

For Total of 2 a/cs: ={cell-with-1st-current-balance} + {cell-with-2nd-current-balance}
