Is there anyway (In Excel or Word I guess) to make those signs that have 10-15 phones numbers at the bottom? The phone numbers generally go vertical instead of left to right. After you print it out, you cut between each phone number allowing people or want your services to "tear off" the phone number.

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.

That should be possible in both Excel and Word.

It's just a matter of using the correct formatting.

In Excel you would put the number in a cell, set the column width to one character, and adjust the row height to fully display the number.

Then goto Format>Cells... and set the Orientation to ±90 degrees.

I think that will give you want, if it doesn't I suggest you just play around.:)

That seems to work, however, my width does not go by characters' but by pixels. I assume that is the same thing?

Yes, I just meant that you adjust the column width to only show 1 character.

How many pixels needed for that would be dependent on your font, font size and whether or not you wanted any blank space between the numbers.

By the way you can easily create a dotted line using borders.:)

PS It's even easier in Word, just use a table and set the Text Direction as required.

Gotya, but I think I will stick to Excel - I suspect that learning about tables in word will be too much trouble for me. I get confused easily :-?

There are Publisher templates for this. Research for car sales, etc to find a template. :)

Norie - how can I get two phone numbers both vertical and SIDE BY SIDE. Is there a way to insert a carriage return into a cell?

Well there is a way to insert a carriage return, ALT+RETURN.:)

As to having 2 phone numbers side by side I think I'll need to look into that.

Do they actually need to be in the same cell?
