Problem with Excel Q's Forum

Thanks Nate, and my apologies

I seen where the post on the lounge was marked "moved" but did not know where it was moved to. (figured it out now)

Frome Nate:
I'm not trying to get to that post!! It is showing up as page one when I click on Excel Questions. And only on my home PC. At work, no problems.

From me:
From URL http://www.mrexcel.com/ , I click on Message Board and go to the forum options URL http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/

From here I am not logged in. So I click on LOG IN and it returns me to

http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/index.php Where now I am logged in without having to go to the log in screen. I am now at the screen to choose which forum I want. I notice on this screen that the "last post" of Excel Q's is dated with the current date.

Now I click on Excel Q's and I am brought to the Jun 24 date as explained above.

I don't want to keep quoteing myself, I think everything was said in my first two posts to this thread. If I need to explain or experiment with something other then what Sunnyland has already suggested, Please let me know.

Then don't repeat yourself!!

What is so undersirable about the following?

From URL http://www.mrexcel.com/ , I click on Message Board and go to the forum options URL http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/

From here I am not logged in. So I click on LOG IN and it returns me to

http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/index.php Where now I am logged in without having to go to the log in screen. I am now at the screen to choose which forum I want. I notice on this screen that the "last post" of Excel Q's is dated with the current date.

I read it, and this sounds very much like how the software works. Excel Q's shouldn't take you to any particular post or question. And that last post by Jindon should not be the only post in that thread you see when you click on the link!

I'm not following your question or what the problem is, your quote reads like expected results to me...

The link you posted works just fine for me... And I just went through your profile, and didn't see anything out of place...

Perhaps flush your home system, i.e., Delete your Cookies and Temporary Internet Files.

Otherwise, I can't see anything wrong with that thread, in terms of expected behaviour, on my end.

Let me try again, then

From mrexcel.com I com to the main screen ~ click on Message Board.

From this screen URL http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/ I am not logged in. So I click Log in.

I am then brought to the same screen but with the URL of http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/index.php (please note that I did not receive the log in screen for input)

From here if I click on the Excel Question forum, I am brought to the page that list all the Topics. (fist four topics being the standard Annoucement and three Stickys) The very next Topick is the one dated Jun 24 and from there it decends in time and date.

In other words, I can not see anything from Jun 24 to present.

The only way to get to the present (current) post page is to click on the Jump To: window at lower right. And when I do that I will be brought to the most current post page, but when I click on page 2, I'm brought right back to June's dates.

I hope that helps. And I'm sorry if I sound a little fustrated over this.

Did you try to flush your system, as mentioned? Clear out cookies and temporary internet files.

Sounds like you might have some cached info on your machine, including login ID and password...

Didn't see that post until after I posted.

Leaving work early today and will try it. Will let you know the outcome.

Thanks

Flushed my system and even did a de-frag. Still have the problem.

Would you think that if that post that keeps comming up was deleted, that it might help? (just a shot in the dark)

No, can't be related... I think you have a local problem (i.e., your IE settings and your cache).

Try running Ad-Aware and see if that flushes it...

Thanks Jon & Nate

Cookies folder is empty(except for index) history folder is also empty.

I run all my on line stuff from MSN Explorer
