Hi out there. I've just bought a new compute with windows 8 and office 2013. I'm trying to use a spreadsheet with macros that has worked fine on my old computer with office 2007. It comes up with an error that says 'Compile Error. User-defined type not defined' and it highlights this in one of the macros 'xmldoc As MSXML2.DOMDocument''
Can anyone help with this problem - it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Narelle

You'll have to upload it to a file hosting site and then post a link here.

I tried the spreadsheet on another computer and it works. The difference with the reference box is that it includes 'MSExchange 1.0 type library' and 'Microsoft outlook 15.0 object library' '
Neither of those appear in the reference box on my computer. I have no idea where to find them, can anyone help me. I have office 2013
Thanks
N

Outlook should be listed in your references. I don't see why you need either reference for that code though.

I'm not sure I do need them but the other computer I tried had them checked and it worked. I cant find either of them in the references. I tried Microsoft HTML object library but that didn't work either. I don't understand how it all works...should they loaded on my computer when I loaded Office?

Good to hear. I'm still confused as to why v6 doesn't work for you though - it compiles fine for me.

Interesting. I just loaded the XML 6 library on Win8 / Office 2013 and see the same as you. The type now needs to be MSXML2.DOMDocument60 apparently.

I'm afraid half the stuff you blokes talk about isn't even in my vocabulary. It's all double dutch to me... :)
