Hi

I am trying to find a an excel VBA code which can install an external program downloaded to a folder.

I have searched around google but in vain.

Please help

just my 2 cents...

Excel is totally not the tool of choice for what you want to achieve...
Even if it might be possible, for reasons stated by a few persons already, you won't get much help here, simply because it would be something too easily exploited for less helpful purposes...
Also, if you plan on using Sendkeys, I predict many sleepless nights in your future... Sendkeys is notoriously unreliable, the moment the user does anything at all you did not account for, things start to go wrong: where you think you are using it to acknowledge a start installation dialog, the user might just have selected a bunch of files and accidentally pressed delete, upon which you then confirm the action, leaving the user stunned and probably angry...

If you want to automate installation processes, I suggest you look into tools like AutoIt

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"

I don't know about outside the UK but in fact running any kind of software on someone else's machine without their permission is a criminal offence here under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

As Hermanito states, you cannot be certain when using SENDKEYS that the user hasn't changed the active window because, as you admit yourself, you're trying to run the installation package without his knowledge. You could cause untold damage to his system.

I strongly recommend that you forget this course of action.
