I have to run a report weekly that displays warehouse inventory going out. I have to ensure everything is coded correctly. This report contains 500-1000 rows and can take a significant amount of time to review. I want to run a macro that will automatically color code a group and product number but not change the rest of the data from my report.

Can I run the report, save it, then Record Macro coloring what I want colored? Then next week, run the report, open recorded macro file, run macro to color new report??? Or at least thats what I envision.

Random example of the report (below).

What I'd like the report to look like after I run a Macro or something (below).

Any macro help or whatever would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

I tested the macro on the data you posted and it worked properly. Are you using the macro on the same data? It is hard to work with a picture. It would be easier to help if you could use the XL2BB add-in (icon in the menu) to attach a screenshot (not a picture) of your sheet. Alternately, you could upload a copy of your file (de-sensitized if necessary) to a free site such as www.box.com or www.dropbox.com. Once you do that, mark it for 'Sharing' and you will be given a link to the file that you can post here.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.

Wait....I got it to work. But now to use the actual information that I have in my real report???? How do I update the coding to the group names and numbers that I need colored?

A macro that works with sample data will not always work with the actual data. Please refer to Post #21 for instructions on how to post your actual data.
