Hi Everyone,

Newbie to the forum, so please go easy on me!

I am trying to update some products from our website using excel, when I open the file as a csv into excel the barcode shows as a strange combination i.e

5.02E+12

I can then format the column with 'numbers' and set the decimal place to 0 and they will look fine. Then I go and save as a CSV and re upload but it flips the barcode back to the strange format!

Any ideas, I'm not that good on Excel so and answers would be appreciated in a simpleton way! :eeek:

Thanks in advance.

Will

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
What do you mean by "totally messed up"? What's in the wrong column?

Sorry that was a little vague. Just none of the contents are lining up with the correct column. It should look like this:

excelerror-3.jpg

Hope thats a bit more clear?

Thanks

That doesn't look anything like the image in Post #10. Are you sure it came from the same text file?

Hi,

Its the same file, but that is opening it as a CSV file, as I can't get the txt file to open. The image above was just showing how it should look.

I'm really sorry about this, I'm its me being stupid!

Thanks
