OK...I've read hours online about this nightmare & here's what I've done & found out...

1) going to View > Macros...suddenly shows nothing
2) adding the "Developer" then going to "Visual Basic"...all macros are visible

How in God's name can this be fixed.
I've exported all modules & can't even import the dumb things

3) have gone through all "options" to make sure macros are enabled
4) nothing is disabled

What are your macro settings in Trust Center in Options?

Excel Facts

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
I've gone through every setting I could find related to enabling macros...

You really don't want enable all macros. I'd suggest Disable with notification.

Try clicking in one of the modules, then click Tools - References, and check one of the available references (doesn't matter which) and OK out. Then Debug - Compile. Then see if the macros appear again. If they do, you can go back in and uncheck the reference you added.

All, I have no idea what to say but I opened the workbook & the macros are visible again. I was astonished as nothing has changed since they disappeared yesterday. I don't know what to say besides I greatly appreciate the help but am baffled as to what is going on.

My experience is that every now and then, Excel goes through what I call "reboot weirdness". That's the situation when out of the blue, some fundamental way Excel or the VBE works suddenly does not work for no discernable reason. But goes back to normal when I reboot my PC.

Agreed. I was hoping that if others experience this, there would be something to help. Outside of frequent backups, I can't think of anything else.

Excel likes to do this to us sometimes... to keep us on our toes! ?
Glad that it sorted itself out, but very odd behaviour. Also, I can't put my finger on it, but there was something 'off' about that first screen capture you sent, and I don't know why... Oh well..
