How to do data validation in sheet 1 and cell A4 if the list of Data is stored in a different sheet...lets say "Sheet2". So what I am asking is I have data in sheet 2 but I want to do data validation in sheet1.

Thanks

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Hi,

Have 2 cells that need to use the same Data Validation range. This is only working for 1 cell. Not getting an error on the 2nd cell, simply no values to selct from.

Tried having the same cell range with 2 different names. Same result, no values in 2nd cell with Data Validation.

Please advise.

Thank You,
SHD

Not clear. You can use the same range in two different cells as Source.

That is what I thought, too. But, it is not happening.

Should I post a file with the problem?

I setup a named range. Then, I reference that in the data validation. It works on 1 cell only, not more than 1 cell. Again, it just has a blank value list in the pull down and no errors.

?

Can you upload that file somewhere like Google Docs, etc?

Hi. I would rather not post to Google docs, but keep it in our forum.

If you have a workbook handy that has a few cells with data validation, that reference the same cell range, please PM me. I will look at it in email and try to do an apples-to-apples comparison to find what is wrong on this end.

Thanks,

Thank you. We have done the same thing.

I will start over with a clean workbook and see if that helps. I did a save-as to get this workbook, from another DV workbook. Perhaps something behind the scenes is corrupted.

Thanks,
