Hi all...

Just tried putting the formula in to count blank cells 'COUNTA', but the cells have drop downs in, which are set to blank, and also have conditional formatting in to shade if blank, and the sum of the count comes to 0, when it should be 26, where am I going wrong?

If you want to count cells with text entries...

=COUNTIF(A2:A10,"?*")

If you want to count cells which are empty/non-blank...

=ROWS(A2:A10)-COUNTIF(A2:A10,"?*")

In case the so-called blank drop-down cells are actually filled-up with space chars...

=SUMPRODUCT(1-(TRIM(A2:A10)=""))

would count cells with non-space entries.

=SUMPRODUCT((TRIM(A2:A10)="")+0)

would count cells with space entries and blank cells.
