Ok I will adjust that. Thanks.

What about this previous post;

The next formula I need is to modify this one;

=IF($F641=0,0,IF(VLOOKUP($B641,Deaths!$G$82:$G$119,1,0)=$B641,"D",(IF($F641
It was in row 641 of the original file I sent. If it this formula is copied up or down I get N/A# so that is the 1st problem!

The 2nd one is needs to only return the D for the day of the death & subsequent future dates.

The 3rd issue is.. will it affect the latest formula we have that calculates the average age if a D is found in the range ?

My last post........
The vlookup you posted doesn't look complete? If it has < signs in it put a space either side, the site cuts it off otherwise.

Let me know what your trying to achieve with it, and where you had the formula entered? I'll take a look tomorrow am.

Oops it should have been

=IF($F641=0,0,IF(VLOOKUP($B641,'YS06-Calf-Deaths-Herd-1'!$G$82:$G$119,1,0)=$B641,"D",(IF($F641<J$2,(J$2-$F641),0))))

I need the formula to behave like this =IF($F5=0,"",(IF($F5<J$2,(J$2-$F5),""))) except it needs to incorporate this IF(VLOOKUP($B641,'YS06-Calf-Deaths-Herd-1'!$G$82:$G$119,1,0)=$B641,"D" somehow.... so that when the number in column B is found in column F from the deaths worksheet it enters a "D" on the date of the death (assume that column M in the death sheet is the date of death for now) in J:NJ on the Stock-Source-Data worksheet but only on the day of the death & all subsequent dates from the date of the death should a D be entered. Dates previous to the death should behave as normal (i.e. =IF($F5=0,"",(IF($F5<J$2,(J$2-$F5),"")))

It appears that the dates in Col M are the same as the birth dates! I changed the 1st record to have a Death Date of 6th July just to test, is this what you're after?

The dates in column M will be found in column F in the source data worksheet. However what is unique is the animal number. Therefore we need to 1st search column B in the source data sheet for a match in column G in the deaths worksheet. If a match is found then a D needs to be entered on the date of the death (which will be in a separate column... I didn't include the dates of the death in the file I sent you however we can make a new column & add some examples)
