When I write macros in Excel 2003 I can press F1 to get help directly with items in my code from a Help file on my PC. Last autumn I bought a new PC and installed Excel 2007, upgrading it to 2010. Now when I press F1 I am connected to Office.com (sometime via a Context Help window) and have to negotiate a whole lot of menus. Is this a 'feature' of Excel 2010? Or am I missing a Help file on my PC and, if so, where is it please?

tia.

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
This seems to be connected with recent updates from Microsoft.

In the help window, click the connection status button (bottom right) and select Show only content from this computer.

Thanks for your swift reply.

Sorry I'm being a bit dumb here. By 'help window' do you mean File|Help? I can't see a connection status button there.

It seems Microsoft do not want users of Office 2010 to use Help as it is not even in the Ribbon for any of the applications!

Help is on the File tab.

Press ALT + F11 to open the VBE and press F1. At the bottom right you should see the connection status. Click on it then change as above.
