This is a very tough and strange request I think

I have an excel spreadsheet with the following information

I sell two products

Product A - makes a profit of £3.00
Product B - makes a profit of £12.00

I have a list of about 300 customers who buy both. I have the average profit for each customer,.

I want to work out from the profit margin the % split of Product A and Product B for each customer

Hope that makes sense

any help will be greatly appreciatted

Thanks in advance

Don't you have information about the quantity sold of each product?

unit sales and unit costs...

/Anders

That is the huge issue as they hadn't kept records of this.

What I am looking for is based on the number is items sold, and the average sale value, based on the cost of product A&B. The % of ech product sold based on the cost of each and the average sale value

If that makes sense

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
The table you provided is the results table.

The formula provided looks at the source data, which needs amending to suit the format, of same.

Is there an example of the source data?

this is all I have, the records previously where shockingly kept

We are trying to find out the % of each product sold based on the number of items sold to the average sale value.... very confusing I know

It seems improbable to get the information you require, without a reasonable source table to feed the summary.
