I use Excel 2010 at work and 2013 at home. Is there anyway to work with the 2010 PowerPivot books (and make changes) while using Excel 2013 and keep the model in Excel 2010 format so I can use it when I return to work? If not, any alternatives for my situation?

Thanks.

Sorry, the answer is no. You cannot edit an Excel 2010 workbook in 2013 without upgrading the data model to 2013 first. What you can do is this.
1. Every time you work on your workbook at home, open the latest version from work in 2013. Convert the data model as the first step.
2. Keep a mental (or physical) note of what you change. If you add new DAX measures, then simply copy the new DAX code as "text" and paste in an email to yourself.
3. When you get to work, copy the text from the email back into your 2010 mode.

Unfortunately there is no other way.

That is what I thought. Unfortunately, I do not see our company upgrading to 2013 anytime soon. My solution: Company buys me a notebook :)

Thanks!
