word - repeat rows at top - is there anything similar

is there a similar function in word to the "repeat rows at top" that you get with excel. a document i am working on requires the doc number to appear at the top of each page. can a header be tweaked to be always visible as opposed to visible when printed or in print preview?

You can use Word's page headings (and footers) - which you can configure to be different on the first, odd and even pages in each Section. Alternatively, if you're working with a table, you can set its heading rows to repeat. Both of these are fairly basic Word functions.

As for visiblity, Print Layout view is required to ensure the 'wysiwyg' effect.
