why is this file so big?

i dont know how to upload excel files i put them on a shared thingy so you can download them.
i have a 5 column - 50 row spreadsheet.
please tell me why it saves at 15MEG !! it is now a rar little file
i used a very old version of xcel

There are 7 sheets

All the sheets are formatted to the last row (65536 as it's an xls)!

It's a mess!

please explain - i see just one sheet!

The biggest size hogs are the ten embedded images—remove them and the file size drops to 1.76MB.
