Hi Ron,
We have recreated what you were attempting to do, and we found that it is reproducible in our end. Since the issue is entirely with Microsoft Edge, we suggest that you submit it to Microsoft directly through the Feedback Hub app. This way, it would let the engineers know and could further improve Edge to increase its usability. OK. Here is what one of the Admins said:

We didn't change anything in the forum recently. So it should be related with Edge update.

However, there is a quick solution for that. You know the little icon at the top of the posting panel (icon A letter "Switch Editor to Source Mode"). If member clicks on that icon and switch to source mode while pasting the script and then switch back then it should work without problems. I have no chance to test it but it should work. Temporarily disable WYSIWYG and paste the script, that's it.

Though the "easiest" solution probably would be to install Chrome.

(or Firefox)

(or Firefox)

I found the easiest thing to do is post my script into NotePad then copy from notepad in to this forum

Switching from Edge to Chrome or Firefox just to post into this forum was not something i wanted to do. Hopefully MS will solve this problem.
