What do you use Excel for?

I have a question for those people, whose work is not connected with Excel very tighly. For what purposes do you use Excel for?
i'm, slowly, but daily, working on an address list that can do so much more !
when you open the file it scrolls to the next event in someone's life: birthday, marriage anniversary, death, and so on...
when you click on a row it gives you a sheet with an overview of all data, in normal dutch :)
and with another click you get 30 special anniversaries: like 100 weeks old; 50 months old; 10000 days old and so on...
and learning vba in the process...

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.

Wow, it predicts deaths too ? you must let me have a copy when it's complete, so I can countdown my noisy old neighbour's demise ?

"Macro L" to log every active window change when logged on. The Excel macro is on my LinkedIn so is searchable. Initially this was to record a brief MsgBox which appears for one of 11 macros via the Quick Access Tool Bar, 3 in Outlook, and 8 in Word. Needed to show line managers the cumulative time savings for the macros, which was 2 hours 30 mins most days. In a standard 7 hours 18 mins day, I doubled output for a very irregular manual process that could not be fully automated.

Freeze Pane at top of Macro L, on a new instance of Excel (ctrl + alt + Excel App via Start if I remember correctly), also records live total of cumulative macro triggers; Number of Minutes with active window changes, and minutes with no change (minutes with mouse moves and separately if keys are pressed or not, could be added).

Also logs macro start time, end time (via a cell deletion on the Freeze Pane). Also logs cumulative lock screen breaks under 30 mins and over, lunch break is 30mins or over, and tech breaks are typically 10 mins mid am and mid pm.

Fun to code, didn't really know how it would turn out. Couldn't do it without a few lines of VBA I found, took months to find. The creativity via many dead ends and web searches when started coding was artistic as well as pure coding. I want to automate the macro via Power Automate, so the Excel Instance is hidden, or code in a different code language...

Though I do use it for work, I do also use it for a bunch of non-work related purporses, such as:
- I created a program to automatically balance my checkbook in Excel (I just make the line entry, as it does all the balancing)
- do loan payment calculations when I am shopping for a new car
- store important information in lists that I can sort and filter, as I need
hello,
i'm just retired now since may, but the last years i wanted to explore VBA.
i created an address list that automatically when opening shows the birthdays, anniversary,... of people in my list...
i represents the data das "Pete is born on april 19 in Liège. he now lives in Leuven. He has worked at the university." and so on...
sadly my memory is getting worse but i'm very happy to know this :) !
have a nice day all !!!
