Weird SUM problem

I have SUMmed a column of numbers which are all formatted as currency ($). This column is similar to about 10 others. Each of the other columns sum correctly, but for this one column the result posted is always blank. If I copy the adjacent cell it displays the value of that cell (i.e. - the SUM of the adjacent column). If I select 'fx' it shows the correct value.

I have changed the format of the column to 'number' which makes no difference. Ditto for 'Custom'.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions but nothing was working, so I've deleted the column, inserted and re-loaded the data and the problem has gone away.

I appreciate your time and attention to my request for assistance.

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
I did tell you the function: '=SUM(ad3:ad66)'
Well, I do not see that formula in your previous messages (you only wrote "I am using '=SUM(' ", probably due to a typing error).
My guess is that the cell has a strange formatting; go on with T. Valko suggestion and also check changing the Font Color (just to be sure it is not white as the cell background).

Bye
