Hello,

I am trying to write a VLOOKUP formula that will work across different tabs. For example, if it does not find a specific number in columns A and B of Sheet1, it would search columns A and B in Sheet2, but it should only go to Sheet2 to if there is not match in Sheet1.

I hope that someone can help me out with this.

Thank you!!

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Put an example of your current formula from the first sheet then I can modify.

If the VLOOKUP must return a number...

=LOOKUP(9.99999999999999E+307,CHOOSE({1,2},
VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet3!A:C,2,0),VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:C,2,0)))

If the VLOOKUP must return text...

=LOOKUP(REPT("z",255),CHOOSE({1,2},VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet3!A:C,2,0),VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:C,2,0)))

Another option is:

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet2!A:C,2,0),VLOOKUP(A2,Sheet3!A:C,2,0))
<strike></strike><strike></strike>
