Hello Mr Bill
Hello to the forum!

In VBA if i want to select the first row in selection or the last row or both : how to write the code, whatever the selection is : relative selection 9 different no of columns and different no of rows ) but with the same format : double border line in first row and the same in last row

I hope you have time to reply
Thanks

Does the following macro do what you want? Make your selection first, then run this...

Code:
Sub MakeSelectionBorders()
  '  Interior borders of selection
  With Selection.Borders
    .LineStyle = xlContinuous
    .Weight = xlMedium
  End With
  ' First and last row of selection
  With Union(Selection(1).Resize(, Selection.Columns.Count), Selection.Rows(Selection.Rows.Count)).Borders
    .LineStyle = xlContinuous
    .Weight = xlThick
  End With
  ' Quick way to do sides since they are the same as top and bottom
  Selection.BorderAround LineStyle:=xlContinuous, Weight:=xlThick
End Sub
Note: I was not entirely sure of the LineStyle or Weight that you wanted to use, but the code should be easy enough to modify.

Thanks for your kind and a quick response,
but I was looking for an advice from you as an expert that summed up and clear the way to vba starting the object map (Object Hierarchy),
is there a file for that Hierarchy?
as that will make me tracing any object and to know from the properties and the methods how to deal with it and to ease my way for understanding and also not to start searching and running for ....... I want to save the time.
sorry for disturbing you.
my best regards
Hussein

Try this. Go into the VB editor and click "Help/Microsoft Visual Basic Help"... click the first item in the list that appears (labeled "Microsoft Excel Visual Basic Reference"... the first link under it (after it "opens up") is a link to the Object Model... in the chart that appears, each rectangle is a hyperlink to the object whose name is inside the rectangle. You can also get at the Collections, Objects, Methods, Properties and Events from the items in the list with those names in them. Explorer the help files as there is a wealth of information in them.
