VBA Overflow Error Not Caused by Integer/Long

Hello,

I'm a mid-level VBA user and so I've searched and modified the following code to loop through 5 files, each with a "Master" tab. It's worked for months now, but threw an overflow error today on the highlighted piece of code. It's odd because it's crashing between rows 82729 and 132711 (stops mid loop), but I successfully pulled in 139090 rows last week. I'd previously had an issue of using Integer instead of Long for the variables, but I'd fixed that a few months ago.

The debugger highlights the following code: destrange.Value = sourceRange.Value

I'd appreciate any guidance you could offer.

Regards

Rob

Code:
Sub Get_AP_Data()
    Dim MyPath As String, FilesInPath As String
    Dim MyFiles() As String
    Dim SourceRcount As Long, Fnum As Long
    Dim mybook As Workbook, BaseWks As Worksheet
    Dim sourceRange As Range, destrange As Range
    Dim rnum As Long, CalcMode As Long

    'Fill in the path\folder where the files are
    MyPath = "J:\Payments\Consolidated\AP Data Files"

    'Add a slash at the end if the user forget it
    If Right(MyPath, 1) <> "" Then
        MyPath = MyPath & ""
    End If

    'If there are no Excel files in the folder exit the sub
    FilesInPath = Dir(MyPath & "*.xl*")
    If FilesInPath = "" Then
        MsgBox "No files found"
        Exit Sub
    End If

    'Fill the array(myFiles)with the list of Excel files in the folder
    Fnum = 0
    Do While FilesInPath <> ""

Fluff,

I see. Thanks for the correction. Your post did spark another idea. I tried removing the file that was open when the error occurred and the code ran perfectly with the other files in the folder. Then, I treid removing all the other files and leaving only the offending file. I get the same overflow error with just the one file with ~50,000 rows. So, it appears that file has been corrupted somehow. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot that before I go down the road of copying all the tabs and coding to a fresh sheet?

Thanks,

Rob

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
With the problem file open & the Master sheet active try running this
Code:
Sub Chk()
   Dim Ary As Variant
   Ary = Range("A2", Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Offset(, 12)).Value
   Debug.Print UBound(Ary), UBound(Ary, 2)
End Sub
Do you get an error?
If not what does the immediate window say?

Do any of the cells contain large amounts of data?
Also what does this give
Code:
Sub Chk()
   Debug.Print Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row
End Sub

Did a quick check of the cells using =LEN() and the max characters are 41. There's no formulas. The only formatting is "short date" on a three columns.

The macro didn't appear to do anything.

Below the code window in the editor there should be another small window called "Immediate", If it's not visible then Ctrl G should make it appear.
If you run the code again, a value should appear in that window.

:confused:

With that amount of data I'm not sure why you are having problems.
When all else fails, try rebooting you computer & then try the code from post#12 on that sheet again.
