Hello folks,

I'd appreciate some help, please, in setting up a UserForm on a spreadsheet that I'm building. In Cells B5 to B44 I have a list of names and in cells H4 to NH4 I have a list of dates.

What I would like to achieve is a UserForm with 3 'boxes' with a dropdown list, the first to select their name (B4:B44) and the second and third (both H4:NH4) to select the start and finish of a date range so that the user can then click a submit button and their selected dates are then shown on the spreadsheet in the relevant cells with the word "Applied" with a tan cell background.

Your help and guidance will be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Mel

I've added to code and then saved and closed the workbook. Upon re-opening the 'title bar at the top of the screen 'flashes' and it's only when I click the sheeet that the userform shows. Unfortunately, though, the dropdown fields remain obstinately blank.

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
If only your code and mine were the same. That's pretty much what I'm trying to achieve.

I pasted and copied your code in but mine isn't working as your example clearly is....

Should I remove all coding and start over?

What exactly isn't working?

Do you have the controls I mentioned on your form?

eg cmdName, cmbStart etc

What, if any, code do they have?

PS You can use your own names for the controls.

Hi Norie,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've been doing some work on my project and have made a little progress, although I feel that there is still some way to go! Could I PM my work so far - it might be easier for me than to give a detailed explanation?

In the date fields of the user form, the dates are displayed as numbers i.e. 41003 etc. What code should I put in (and where) to display the dates as shown on the worksheet. Also, when the submit button is pressed, nothing is displayed on the worksheet, which ideally I'd like it to show "Applied" with a tan-type background. Thirdly, should I add a further button to the user form to ‘unload’ it?

Many thanks.

You seem to have a lot more going on than I first thought, or you mentioned.:)

If you PM me I'll reply with my email address.

Might be an idea to stick with the forum too through, somebody else might be able to help.:)
