I have created a small spreadsheet with three columns: % completion, count down from 67, and date. The first column uses =(67-B3)/67 formatted as % to display the progress to a future date. Excel has added a hyphen-like character at the left edge of every calculated cell EXCEPT the first calculated cell. This doesn't affect the usability, but the the extra visual junk is an annoyance and I haven't been able to figure out how to eliminate it. If you've seen this and know how to fix it, please let me know.
Thanks!

In this case the objects were not obviously objects and too small to select directly. In normal circumstances the quickest way to select all objects is in fact to select one of the objects on the spreadsheet and hit Ctrl+A.
The advantage of using the Objects Selection Pane was that it identifies object types in this case being "Ink".

Coincidentally the F5 / GoTo method was covered in this weeks Allen Wyatt's Excel Tips Newsletter
On having done some testing, the GoTo method will always pick up "all" objects while the Select then Ctrl+A methods will not pick up Active X objects unless you first turn on Design mode in the Developer tab.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
