OK OK...

I still think that a thread should be able to be closed by the OP as being 'solved' (or by a moderator after a specific time has passed between last post and today) - with a user preference to show only unsolved cases etc... if so desired.
 
fair point but similarly people are put off reading a post for the first time if say there are more than 3 or 4 posts as you 'assume' the issue is being dealt with...whereas in reality this could not be the case and the issue may be unanswered...

regardless I don't think you can satisfy everybody's wants but I like the new idea of the bump.

you could of course have 2 flags ... 1 for working solution and 1 for still open for further suggestions... :twisted:
