I need to find a formula that will calculate the amount of time worked in a day. For example... In cell A1 you would have 8:00 - 5:00, then I want cell B1 to show that is representative of 8 hours. What is the easiest and best way to do this? Thanks!

Just didn't quite catch what you meant by «conditionalstatement» / 2. Can you show me an example perhaps?
When dealing with times that are not formatted with AM/PM or using the 24:00 format, you end up assuming that if end time is less than start time that you need to add 12 hours (0.5) to end time. Since TRUE evaluates to 1, adding half a day is the same as adding TRUE/2. It's a lot easier to see if the times are split into two cells. For example:
book2
ABCD
18:005:009:00
Sheet1

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
I understand,

Thanks so much for the tips. I will keep them in mind for the next time.
