I have a pool tournament that plays 8 rounds. Each round is one game. After each round a random draw takes place to pair up the next match. There could be 20-60 players any tournament.
At the end of the tournament there will be players that won all the games to end up 8-0, maybe lost a game and ended up 7-1, or lost two games and ended up 6-2.
We want tp pay out all the 8, 7 and 6 wins. 6's get $10 and the rest is proportionally split across the 7's and again across the 8's.
The challenge I have is we want the make sure the 8's get a good amount more than the 7's and the 6's get $10. if there are 3-8's, 5-7's, and 3-6's. how can you calculate payout to allow the 7's to make more than the 6's and the 8's to make more than the 7's and 6's?
Example 1-
$8 buy in x 30 players = $240
50/50 money may added $100
With 30 players you have:
$240+$100=$340
Example 2-
$8 buy in x 60 players = $420
50/50 money may added $200
With 60 players you have:
$420+200=$620
I tried many variations in excel but cannot get to the desired result. Any help is greatly appreciated.
