When I try to perform an update query in Access, I get the following error and the data does not update.

I followed the instructions below on the Microsoft page, but it is still not functioning.

Please help me fix this issue. Is very important for me. Thank you in advance!

I am a bit confused - what role does the "Variant table" play in this?
I see the join between the "CMDB" and "OSS Germany" and the updates involving these tables, but nothing involving the "Variant" table.
If the "Variant" table just used in record selection?

By the way, how many records are being returned by the Select query?
And do you have any errors in any the fields involved in the updates?
Variant Is a table used for other field updates that I removed for the moment, thinking this is the cause. The Select Q is returning 48K records that were updated before. The ones that should be updated are not appearing. There are no errors as far as I can see.

The Select Q is returning 48K records that were updated before. The ones that should be updated are not appearing.
So, are you saying that the records you think SHOULD be updated are NOT appearing in your Select query?
That would imply that they are not meeting your criteria.

Find any record which you think SHOULD be updated, but is not.
Then, look at the values in the fields that record is joining to the other tables on.
Make sure that those fields are an EXACT match.
As something as simple as an extra space or other character will cause it not to match.

Also, are all the matches 1-1?
If you have any "1 to many" or "1 to none", that could be problematic.

I created a second query to update the Variable table, and it worked! I now have two update queries. One for each table and it is working. Thank you very much! You saved my day!
