Hi,

Running Windows 11 Enterprise 64 bit and Microsoft 365 here at work.

There was apparently an update in the background today which has changed the appearance of my Office apps.

The autosave button has changed from white on all apps to the main colour of the app (green- Excel, blue- Word etc)
The part of the ribbon that contains the icons has now become rounded. I have noticed that with my Office 2021 that I run at home, so that isn't a problem.

The problem I am finding though, is that text in the Formula Bar looks like it has a space between every letter, but clearly isn't when you attempt to delete what appears to be the space. The font itself, although Calibri and size 10 in the data, it looks very simplistic in the formula bar.
The attached image doesn't do it justice, it does look very much more pronounced when viewed as a maximised window.
Strangely, any letter following a capital I looks as it did prior to the update.

Does anyone know if a setting has gone awry here and how to fix it, or is it something I need to change?
Thanks in advance.

File - Options - Formulas, uncheck the 'use monospaced font for formulas' option?

That is weird - I do not see that even listed as an option for me under File/Options/Formulas:

I don't have that option Rory.
I have the same settings pop up as you Joe

"File --> Options --> General --> Use this as the default font" changed the formula bar font in my 365.

This is where I solved it.
Every new file and all files I opened, the default font had changed to Aptos, a font I have never hear of before.
I have had to open each app individually and change the default font to Calibri, I'm certain this was a global option, not specific to each app, but hey ho, it's solved and we got there.

Thanks everyone.

Excel Facts

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
Hello,
You are correct, Aptos is one of the new fonts introduced in MS Office to replace Calibri. Indeed, Calibri has some issues especially in Excel where some letters/symbols ("l (L), I (i), |" for instance) are very similar and can reduce formulas readability.
