Hi,
I am trying to work out whether a result is “statistically significant”.
I am comparing the strike (scoring) rates of players at different grounds in cricket.
Strike rate is calculated using the formula runs/balls x 100.
For individual grounds I may only have a sample size of 500 runs from 400 balls whereas for the total for all grounds it’s more like 50,000 runs from 35,000 balls.
I want to work out how confident I can be in the strike rates from individual grounds where they diverge from the average for all grounds.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
