Hi all,

This could be a novice question but I was hoping one of you could help me.

I have a report to run this morning from an excel file, I have a list of target dates and a list of dates when the jobs were actually completed. I basically only want to know which jobs didn't meet the target.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.

Without knowing the structure of the data or your rules, we really cannot give you anything more than a general answer. The answer is most likely "yes".
How to do that really depends on the details of your data and rules. If you can provide some sample data and your conditions, we can help you with that.

You cannot upload files to this site. But there are tools you can use to post screen images. They are listed in Section B of this link here: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/board-a...forum-use.html. Also, there is a Test Here forum on this board that you can use to test out these tools to make sure they are working correctly before using them in your question.

As a very basic answer, try something like this:

Book1
ABCD
1JobTarget DateCompletedLate
2Job 101/08/201905/08/2019Late
3Job 201/08/201931/07/2019
4Job 310/08/2019
5Job 410/08/201905/10/2019Late
Sheet1
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
D2=IF(C2>B2,"Late","")

You can get more creative than this but I thought I would start simple :)<strike>
</strike>

This would flag up jobs that were completed ate or that have not been completed yet, though the completion date is past:

Book1
ABCD
1JobTarget DateCompletedLate
2Job 101/08/201905/08/2019Late
3Job 201/08/201931/07/2019
4Job 303/08/2019Late
5Job 410/08/201905/08/2019
Sheet1
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
D2=IF(OR(C2>B2,AND(ISBLANK(C2),B2))),"Late","")

(Note I am using UK dates in the format DD/MM/YYYY).
