I have a VB6 program that opens Excel files. I have been using this program for several years with out any problems. I recently began using a Window 8.1 computer. The program runs fine in the uncompiled VB6 IDE. When I run the compiled version (.exe) I get a Run-time error that says "Automation Error Library not registered". When I run this same exe program on another windows 8.1 computer it run clean. My searches on the web tell me that I possibly have more than 1 reference to excel in my registry. I am not sure how to go about finding this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Excel Facts

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
Microsoft have a free tool "Office Configuration Analyser Tool", give that a try.

Also in the VBA have a look at the installed VBA references, you might be missing something
