Sum with Multiple categories

DPP 25 Jon 5 500 5 400 5 600

I would like to sum all the amounts for employees that are in the DPP category. Can someone give me formula? I have multiple budget categories and need an easier way to SUM.

I don't believe sumifs/if is the correct formula for what I am trying to do.
Then you will need to explain it to us in more detail.
If you can post the images, the best thing to do is to post a small data sample and then also post what you want your expected results to look like.
