Greetings

Cell - A1 To contain formula

Cell - A2 To Display result of value entered into Cell A3

Cell - A3 Cell in which a numeric value is entered.

Formula must be-able to the sum total of the value entered into A3 and display the result in A2.

Example of Value entered into A3 1024 (No commas. spaces or plus signs. Just the number)

Sum total to be displayed in A2 must be 7 (1+0+2+4 = 7)

Example of Value entered into A3 123456789 (No commas. spaces or plus signs. Just the number)

Sum total to be displayed in A2 must be 45 (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9=45)

Thanks

If you place the formula in A1, the sum of the digits should appear in cell A1. Could you copy the formula from cell A1 and post it here, please?

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
@JulianvO please stop making posts that contain nothing but a quote. Thanks
If you want to refer to a specific person you can mention them, as I have at the start of this post.

Greetings

I entered the number in A2, and when nothing happened, I entered the number into A3, after deleting the number in A2.

Greetings Fluff

=SUM(0+MID(A3,ROW($A$1:INDEX($A:$A,LEN(A3))),1))

I placed the above formula into A1. Entered a number into A2 and pressed enter- Nothing but the number I entered. Deleted the number in A2.

I entered the number into A3 and pressed enter- Nothing but the number I entered in A3

Obviously, I am missing something

Thanks

I am not understanding the issue:
MrExcel_20220909.xlsx
A
136
2
312345678
Sheet4 (2)
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
A1A1=SUM(0+MID(A3,ROW($A$1:INDEX($A:$A,LEN(A3))),1))

...seems to work fine. Could you post a snapshot of your worksheet using the XL2BB add-in?
