Sum a total from a different sheet

Hi Guys
Back again with my second question.
I have two sheets in my workbook, first sheet is named TOTAL and second sheet is named ROGER 24-25
I want to put the total amount from ROGER 24-25 cell M2 to the TOTAL sheet cell B2
I realise this is probably a simple formula, but after Googling for the past few hours, I can't get it to work.

You can try:

in Total sheet add in cell B2: ='ROGER 24-25'!M2

Tried that but no good, I just get #REF! in cell B2

I just tried that again by clicking =in B2 and then selecting cell M2 in the second sheet, and it works.
It would not work though by typing in the formula in cell B2??
Anyway thanks for the help
