Good Day all

This is my first post and i am not an "excel engineer" , please bare with me.

Essentially i have a row of cells that needs to be identified if it is larger than a certain amount (x for example )
and then X subtracted from it as many times needed to get it below x.

I then need to add the amount of times i subtracted x to be added to another cell.

I am not sure if this seems to be a junior topic and dont want to irate people but you all look so helpful .

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
you have come to the right place

=MAX(A1:J20) Will give you the highest value in range

however I would like more of a breakdown of what you are looking for/achieve

This is the spread sheet im working on so far ( try not to giggle )

xkugu4d.jpg

every time i add a "coupon" to column F it will increase the value slighlty of the cell in the same row of column H but i need to have that column H never have more than 25.

so everytime a cell in column H is higher or equal to 25 it will need to subtract 25 from it and add 1 for every 25 subtracted to the same row cell of column F.

im sorry if i am not explaining this well im not sure how else to.

P.S. There is a possibility that column H will have numbers like 78 or over 100 and multiple times needed to subtract 25 and then the times that i subracted 25 to be added to column F.

don't worry when you have an idea it is the best form of learning

how is the number in F currently worked out, can you provide the formula?

That sounds like circular logic to me. Can you explain the number 2.23 and why does the amount over 25 in column H get added to column F? See, the problem is that column H is based on column F, so if you keep changing the value of column F based on the calculation in column H, and column H is based on column F, you end up reasoning in a circle. Does that make sense?

Yes i Understand and i see where i explained incorrecly

Firstly when you subtract the 25 from column H you dont add the 25 to column F but a unit of 1 per 25 subtracted

Also i stated that it is added to the same row column F but that is incorrect it must be added 2 cells down of column F

I can see now why you would see it as cyclic

I am a little lost sorry :)

are you saying that every 25 in "Weekly Saving" will add 1 unit to "Number of coupons"

for e.g you buy 80 coupons which has a weekly saving of 178.4 making your 80 become 87
