i just started vba programming yesterday :)

i'm having a problem filtering a number that is between 6-12 characters in excel 2007. can anyone assist?
 
The problem is this line
If IsEmpty(ActiveCell) Then

I think that also the parentheses around your msgbox are a problem:

MsgBox ("You entered a invalid Loan Number")

The parentheses would indicate that you are looking for a return value... You don't want/need them since the user can only click OK.
