Good afternoon
I have created a Time Management Matrix - it has 4 quadrants that create a square and they have headings urgent & Important, Urgent & Not Important etc.
The appropriate quadrant is automatically populated from a list of tasks - I set a formula to do this
The task list has 3 columns, Urgent and Important and Status - these are dropdowns

The bit I am struggling with is when I select Completed status I want to strike through the text in 1 quadrant and in the list of tasks, so its very easy to see that the task has been completed. I have tried using Conditional Formatting>Create a new rule>formula

So I have selected all 4 quadrants and used a formula =$k$5="Completed" but then it strikes through everything is the same row and not just in 1 quadrant -
Or if I only select 1 quadrant is strikethrough random items

what am I doing wrong?

Is conditional formatting the way to go

Or should I use VBA?

Can anyone help me please with some very simple and basic instructions

Thank you

Excel Facts

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Welcome to the Board!

Without seeing the exact layout of all your data (especially exactly where all 4 quadrants are located on your sheet), I think maybe you need 4 separate Conditonal Formatting rules, one for each quadrant.

Does the picture help?
Thanks
Karen
