Static Time Stamp?

Hello, I know how to do a static timestamp by using control + shift + colon, however I am trying to make a spreadsheet do this automatically when a cell is populated.

For example, when someone enters a value in cell A1, I want B1 to stamp the static current time when A1 was populated.

This doesn't seem like it should be too hard but I'm drawing a blank. Please help, thanks!

Hi JRinderer, this code has worked beautifully but a user has just uncovered a bit of a flaw. Here is the issue, I'm hoping it is something simple and you can help me a little bit more.

Let's say the user puts in rows of data in column A. All of the date stamps work beautifully in column B, just as I was hoping they would. Now, to the problem which is column E. If the user puts data in column E, the time stamp works beautifully in column F like it was supposed all the way up to and including all of the rows (+1) that were populated in column A. So let's say users populated cells A1:A20. B1:B20 would have timestamps just as needed. Now, let's say users populated cells E1:E30. Only cells F1:F21 (since column A's data only went to 20) would have the timestamps. F22 and beyond would be blank.

I hope I made this clear. I wish I could just insert a darn picture, that is worth a thousand words! Please help me if you can, thank you so much!
