Spreadsheet Design Question

Does anyone know of any resources that they can direct me towards for information on "good" spreadsheet design. i.e. spreadsheets without VBA and with discernable logic to the network of dependent cells. I'm also looking for concepts for spreadsheet validation as part of a spreadsheet design.

For right now, this is just an intellectual exercise, but I'm looking to develop my basic spreadsheet skills.

God, I hope this makes sense and that it doesn't sound too pretentious.

Thanks

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Excellent. I'm just reading the first part of the first link you provided and this seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. (For starters  )

The links in the commercial page will also be interesting reading. (they even link to here. - 1 star for content? Pah! The content's what you make it here.)

Thanks

Mark,

In reference to the previous post regarding http://spreadsheetstyle.com/links/links.htm,
go to the section headed "Style: how you should write a spreadsheet".

One of the links in this section is to a publication by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC)
"Spreadsheet Modeling Best Practice", a 100 page PDF file (894KB) or 664KB zipped. The links to this publication seemed to be broken (similarly, links to the publication from other Excel sites are not working). A search on PWC's site was fruitless. However, I have a copy that I could email to you (worth reading).

Regards,

Mike
