I have a list of names and unique numbers down columns a and b. From columns c onward I have a week eending date as the header and numbers of hours worked. What I need to do is have only 4 columns, name, weekending, unique number and hours. can anyone help?

I think we really need to see some sample data.

The technique in that link is a new one on me.:)

But are you sure it will work with the volume of data the OP's mentioned?

I don't think it will, that's why I suggested Access.

No I said that in the earlier post, I imagine he would need to have a few goes at it, each time pasting the results into access.

The volume of data remains a problem, but I can't see why spliting the results table up wouldn't work as long as the range used is short enough to return less than 65000 results ( which you wouldn't know before hand)

Whoops didn't see the data samples.:)

I've recently been involved in a thread over in the Access forum that involved converting a 'wide' table into a 'flat' table using pretty straightforward code.

I don't have time at the moment to post a link but it's pretty near the top over there.
