Sort IP addresses

I need to sort a range of IP addresses. The problem I am having is this:

xxx.xxx.xxx.1
xxx.xxx.xxx.2
xxx.xxx.xxx.11

sorts as

xxx.xxx.xxx.1
xxx.xxx.xxx.11
xxx.xxx.xxx.2

how can I fix this?
