Hi
Can you supply formulae that enables you to return "ok" if a character string doesnt contain this AND also doesnt contain this AND also doesnt contain this etc

this kind of thing doesnt seem to work..
=IF(SEARCH("123",C2),"",IF(SEARCH("abc",C2),"","ok"))

thanks
Andy

Save Often
If you start asking yourself if now is a good time to save your Excel workbook, the answer is Yes
The SEARCH returns the #VALUE! error if it fails, so:

=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("123",C2)),"",IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("abc",C2)),"","ok"))
