I have created a database to track the assets of each individual member of staff, and want to be able to search by name from a form.

However, I keep getting the following error;

Any advice?

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
You cant add attachments to this forum so youve done this the correct way by adding a link.
Sorry i cant help you with your problem.

Many of us are unable to see or download links, due to corporate security regulations where we work.

So you may have better luck if you can describe your process in more detail, include any VBA code, and tell us what the error message says.

The error text is;

"The command or action 'Find' isn't available now"

I am just using a simple button on a form, that is generated by Access to use the "Find Record" function. There is no custom code involved.

More Info

If I open the form as it is, it works fine, when I open the form as a subform that is when the error occurs.

Looks like there is a myriad of reasons why you might get that error message (including corruption).
If you Google it, you will find many topics on this issue, with different solutions for different people. Without having access to your database, there is no way we can really tell which one of these things pertains to you. I would recommend working your way through some of the things suggested there.

Here are a few threads to get you started, but there are lots more that can be found with a Google Search.
