search conditional format and wild card.

I have a list of names that I need to know if those names are in a larger list. The large list has the names in the string, I need to use conditional format to highlight the name in both lists.
I am using,
=SUMPRODUCT(--ISNUMBER(SEARCH(A1:A25,C1)))
Where should I use the wildcard “*”,
