Scatterplot with multiple series, without specifying the ranges by hand

Hi!
I have a problem when trying to create a scatter plot with mutiple series.
I have three columns; one with the series name, one with the x values and one with y values.

Example:
Series name,,,,,, x-values,,,,,,, y-values

I know that i could easily define each series manually. This however would take ages since there are 50+ different series names and different amounts of x- and y-values.
So i want excel to do this for me.
Any suggestions how to solve this is greatly appreciated?

You could use a pivot table to split out the series, as I described in Dynamic Chart using Pivot Table and VBA.

In order to make a scatter plot from a pivot table, you need to follow a different approach than simply inserting a pivot chart. See Making Regular Charts from Pivot Tables.

If the data for each series is in a contiguous range, you could also use a straight VBA approach to populate the chart, as in VBA to Split Data Range into Multiple Chart Series.
