I would like to count specific rows in a spreadsheet. For example see below..

Failed XMLs
tran_log_id origin_id reference_id result_code last_updated_dttm
11421022 OMS OMS_39794575 25 01:30.7
11421023 OMS OMS_39794575 25 01:47.2

I have repeated data with different titles and values. I would like to only count the bottom two rows. Is there a way to exclude the title and column headers when doing a row count. That is for this data I want a row count of 2.

The issue is that will give me an inaccurate count of what I need in the above example. Using =COUNT (A:A) will give me a count of 12 not 8. I want to be able to disclude the first two rows above any set of data in the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet is variable though as there are variable number of sets of data each with headings in the excel sheet at any given time.

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.

COUNT counts only numbers, so it will give you 8, not 12, for the sample you posted.
